I learnt that the British-Nigerian heavyweight champion, Anthony Joshua took his belts to the streets of Makoko community in Lagos state. He visited the Makoko community ahead of his fight came back with his belts to celebrate and share time with them on Friday, February 21, 2020.
The Residents of the community came out in their numbers to welcome the world champion. Anthony Joshua took to his social media page to share lovely photos that saw him handover his WBA, IBF and WBO belts to the kids who signed up to a local boxing school.
I love the idea that he remembers home. There is no doubt that he is a role model to these kids who wants to build a career in boxing even as they have enrolled in the local boxing school. He deserves more accolades for being proud of his origin.
