Nigerian Youths are not lazy!! they are actually creative but the problem here the creative path they choose. 75% of Nigerian youths have resolved to quick money scheme while 25% a re patient enough to make money the right way.
In the case of this impostor, Nwalozie Onyebuchi Julius, who was sentenced to three years imprisonment without an option of fine after he used the identity of Dr. Godwin Emefiele, the Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria to commit fraud
He was arraigned by the Uyo Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on a one-count charge, bordering on impersonation and obtaining by false pretense to the tune of N4.5million.
Nwalozie’s journey to jail began on December 6th 2019 when he was arrested by the operatives of Uyo Zonal Office of the Commission, based on reliable intelligence on the activities of internet fraudsters, operating in Owerri, Imo State.
Upon arrest, the convict confessed to the crime and a forensic analysis of the HP laptop recovered from him further implicated him as several incriminating documents of false pretense and fraudulent extortions were printed from it which he also admitted, emanated from him.
Investigation also revealed that the convict’s specialty was Business Email Compromise-BEC and his modus operandi involved searching for email addresses via Google search and sending convincing emails to his victims. He also confessed to have used a particular email address, (emefielegodwin586@yahoo.com) purportedly belonging to the C.B.N governor, Dr. Godwin Emefiele in defrauding one Mr. Omar Deep, who thought he was actually dealing with the real C.B.N Governor.
From this story, Nwalozie is not a lazy youth because it took him time, Intellect, skill and hardwork for him to pull this stunt he did fearlessly regardless of the consequence of his choice. Unfortunately for him luck wasn’t on his side this time. If it were in the European world, the government would invite him for an interview because of his skills …why!!! they always try to see the good side in every human being and his skills can be useful to fight corruption in the society. Whichever way, his action is a punishable offence by the law but I will encourage Nigerian youths to channel more energy and their creativity to legitimate business ideas rather than this quick money scheme with limited time for its enjoyment.
