Following the backlash that greeted the announcement that Tonto Dikeh has been appointed as an ambassador to the Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission, the NCPC has disowned her as it’s ambassador.

Gistflash Media gathered that the commission disowned her in a press statement describing it as a figment of her imagination.

According to the commission, the ace actress who doubles as the founder of Tonto Dikeh Foundation on 25th February, 2021 paid a visit to the Executive Secretary, Rev Yakubu Pam to express willingness in partnering with the Commission in the area of peace building.

Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission Disowns Tonto Dikeh As Ambassador

But contrary to the reason for her courtesy visit and clear misrepresentation of what transpired, the commission was inundated with the viral ambassadorial claims as posted by the actress on social media.

The commission frowned at but still appreciated her desire to partner with the peace building initiatives and in the area of pilgrimage sponsorship to the Holy Land.

PRESS STATEMENT:

“The Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission NCPC wishes to state in categorical terms that King Tonto Dikeh paid an official courtesy visit to the Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission Rev Yakubu Pam on 25th February, 2021 at the corporate headquarters of the Commission in Abuja.

As the founder of Tonto Dikeh Foundation, she expressed her willingness and interest in partnering with the Commission in the area of peace building.

She equally cashed in on the visit to commend the NCPC boss for his positive and relentless peace initiatives across the country.

However, we are suddenly inundated with claims from King Tonto Dikeh herself that she has been officially appointed as Ambassador of peace by this great Commission. This claim has gone virile in the media.

The Commission frowns at this claim which is a clear misrepresentation of what transpired.
The fact remains that the Executive Secretary of NCPC never appointed King Tonto Dikeh an Ambassador of Peace for NCPC and this was not part of her visit therefore this claim by her is spurious, unfounded and should be discarded and seen by all Nigerians as a figment of her imagination.

Nevertheless, we appreciate her desire to partner with us in our peace building initiatives and in the area of pilgrimage sponsorship to the Holy Land .

Signed:
Celestine Toruka
Head Media and Public Relations NCPC

Olarewaju said that the company had earlier apologised to users following a glitch in the transmission that made them unable to use their smart decoders.

He also said the company, on the new media platform, announced that viewers could now enjoy all their High Definition (HD) channels without being charged.

“TStv service is now fully up. As compensation for the downtime, we have made all TStv channels Zero Naira from July 30, 2021 till August 31, 2021.

“Kindly add as many channels as you want, you will not be charged one kobo for the next month. Thank you all,’’ he said.

TSTV, the first satellite TV to introduce pay per view in the country, launched its operation on Oct. 1, 2020.
