The Nigeria Center for Disease Control ‘NCDC’ and Dettol Nigeria, reacts after the Lagos state police command arrested actress, Funke Akindele-Bello for flouting the lockdown order in Lagos state.
Recall, Funke Akindele-Bello runs a video campaign sponsored by Dettol in which she emphasis on the need for Nigerians to practice proper hygiene such as washing of their hands and social distancing.
However, Funke and her husband, JJC Skillz had a birthday party at their Amen estate home in Lagos state and was attended by quite a number of people which flouts the social distancing order of the Lagos state government.
Many Nigerians on Twitter this morning bashed her for flouting the social distancing she advised Nigerians about in her campaign ad for Dettol.
She was arrest by men of the Lagos state police command yesterday while her husband, singer Naira Marley have been asked to come forward for questioning.
Shortly after the news of her arrest broke, Dettol Nigeria tweeted on its Twitter page saying as a responsible organization, it does not condone any breach of the guidelines on Covid-19 and are concerned about the turn of events.
NCDC on its part said it has not engaged brand ambassadors as part of its response to COVID-19.
