Recall around Last week, President Andry Rajoelina officially launched the CVO, a herbal concoction claiming that it can prevent and cure patients suffering from coronavirus. The drug has been developed by the Malagasy Institute of Applied Research.
However, delivery was made through Equatorial Guinea who earlier came to the country to pick up the load. Andry Rajoelina stated that he intends to send the CVO syrup all around the world but would first begin from ECOWAS.
Among the first benefiting countries include; Benin Republic, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Ghana. However, delivery will also be given to; Liberia, Guinea Bissau, Equatorial Guinea, Mali, Togo, Nigeria, Niger Republic, Cape Verde, Sierra Leone and Senegal.
Andry took to his Instagram to express his concerns for his African brothers. He said;
“Madagascar and it’s African brothers are United in the fight against COVID-19. It is with honor we send this herbal syrup to 15 members countries of ECOWAS through Guinea Bissau. Madagascar will make available the CVO to the country greatly affected by novel coronavirus, the Indian Ocean, as well as all around the world.
According to a newspaper ‘La Verite’, quoting the Equatorial Guinea’s deputy minister of health ‘Mitoha Ondo’o Ayekaba’ he said;
“Equatorial Guinea wanted to be the first country to recognize and use this remedy discovered by Malagasy researchers. And we hope that health cooperation between the two countries will be further strengthened”.
Equatorial Guinea, with a population of 1.3 million has 315 confirmed COVID-19 cases so far, with one death, and nine recoveries, according to figures compiled by the US-based Johns Hopkins University.
